Breast Implants | Breast Augmentation Beverly Hills | Los Angeles
During your consultation, Dr Motykie will address your desires and concerns about breast augmentation surgery and he will give you a clearer understanding of how a breast augmentation may best meet your own needs and expectations. Dr Motykie will also give you an opportunity to ask him any question you may have about breast augmentation surgery as well as its possible benefits in your particular case. When going into your consultation, it is wise to come with questions written down and have a general understanding of the overall procedure so you can be prepared to learn as much as possible during your visit with Dr Motykie. Your overall health will also be discussed as well as any surgical procedures you may have had previously. It is important to make Dr. Motykie and/or his staff aware of any pre-existing medical conditions that you may have and of any possible drug allergies or past surgical procedures. In addition, it is important to disclose the use of any current medications, vitamins, herbal supplements, alcohol or tobacco or other substances.
During the surgical planning office visit, Dr. Motykie will assess and measure several variables that are specific to your body as they can affect the position and apparent size of the breasts post-operatively. These variables include:
- The base diameter of your breasts
- Your brassiere size
- The shape and position of your breast mound
- Any breast asymmetries
- The position, shape and size of your nipple areolar complex will be assessed for the purpose of possible surgical planning.
- Asymmetries of the foundation of the breast mound may also be evaluated
- Rib cage deformities and any curvature of your spine will be evaluated and noted.
Sometime during your consultation Dr Motykie will have you look through a “breast book” which contains photographs of different types, shapes and sizes of breasts in order to help you determine what type of breast you personally find attractive as well as which type of implant and augmentation technique may best help you to achieve your desired outcome from surgery. You are also encouraged to bring in photographs you may have obtained on your own from magazines or various internet websites which show the desired look you would like to achieve. Dr Motykie has found that looking through these types of photographs as well as reviewing his personal breast augmentation portfolio is much more helpful in determining a desired bra cup-size and breast shape than techniques that employ stuffing bras with various filler materials, trying on misleading sizing implants or undergoing visual imaging techniques.
By the conclusion of your consultation, all of the options for your breast augmentation should have been discussed including: types, shapes and sizes of currently available breast implants, implant pocket placement and incision location for surgery. Each of these separate variables will now be discussed in further detail.
